Parts production

    


    The materials needed for a building range from steel bars, cement, concrete, bricks, glass, etc., to as small as a screw or nut. A screw may seem like an insignificant little part, but has a very important function. For each connection, it needs screws and nuts. Therefore, how is it made? Where do these materials come from? How does it process? I visited the parts processing factory with my curiosity. Its raw materials come from various suppliers. After more than 10 processes of processing by workers, a small screw is born. Once produced, they are packed together and shipped to construction sites for use, with some materials and processing chips recycled.


1️⃣ Selection

The first is to choose different materials (copper, aluminum, stainless steel) according to the demand of different diameters of materials

2️⃣ Heat treatment

The wire is heated for a period of time and then cooled slowly to adjust the crystalline structure, reduce the hardness of the wire, and improve the workability of the wire at normal temperature

3️⃣ Acid treatment

Pickling removes the oxide film on the wire surface so that the wire can be processed more easily

4️⃣ Processing

According to the requirements of the drawings, the processing is divided into four stages.

1. In the roughing stage, most of the machining allowance of each machining surface of the chip is left for finishing.

2. In the finishing stage, large machine cutting speed and small machine cutting depth are adopted.

3. Polishing stage, mainly used to reduce the surface roughness value.

4. Ultra-precision machining stage, machining precision 0.1-0.01μm, surface roughness ra≤0.001μm processing stage. 




5️⃣ Electroplating

Through the principle of electrochemistry, another metal is generated on the surface of the screw, to prevent the screw rust, prolong the service life, but also to achieve beautiful effect. Usually this step takes 1.5 to 2 hours and a small screw is created.

6⃣️ Recycling

The chips left over from processing are recycled. In the process of metal cutting, a large number of metal chips will be produced. The chip has certain recycling value.
